Retailers’ Cybersecurity Efforts Falling Short, Study Finds

By Allison Grande (November 12, 2021, 9:57 PM EST) — Retailers, restaurants and hospitality businesses have high confidence in the measures they’re taking to detect and prevent data breaches, but the enhanced attention and resources they’re putting into these efforts haven’t been enough to stave off a swell of cyberattacks, new research indicates.

Nearly all the 300 decision makers in companies across the hospitality, retail, and food and beverage sectors who were surveyed for a study released Thursday exploring how these industries are managing cybersecurity risks reported that their businesses recognize the importance of investing in cybersecurity and that they are “satisfied” with their company’s systems and internal risk assessment processes….
